Forest Sprite

Didn't feel like painting anything "real", so I made this little thing.

I used leftover pieces from Wood Elves Battalion. I made the base from bottle cap.

Small rocks are a mix of sand, glue and paint. I drybrushed all stones with a few shades of grey and white. The two larger stones got a wash of Agrax Earthshade. After that I gave them very light drybrush of Ushabti Bone.

The Sprites I started with a mix of Hoeth Blue and Altdorf Guard Blue (1:1). Followed by a wash of watered down Asurmen Blue. I then blended with Hoeth Blue, Ice Blue and finished with Ceramite White. I think that's enough blueblue :P

Dark Vengeance Chaos

Haven't got any mini done lately so I decided to post some of my old ones.

I thought that these were few years old but Dark Vengeance came out 2012?!

That makes these almost four years old.

My favorites are the Chaos Lord and the Cult Leaders (or whatever they are called).

Cultists are nice addition for the Chaos. I wish at least some of them would look more like Imperial Guard. But of course I can just use IG minis with a touch of chaos.

I think it would be interesting to buy another Dark Vengeance and see how much better they would come out. :D

Skaven Warlord

I haven't been very interested in Skavens before, but this was very nice model to paint.

I used 'Reikland Fleshshade Gloss' to create a rusty effect on the metal parts.

The mini is from Island of Blood starter. I really like the "flag" and the torch.

Crimson Fists test model

I wanted to do a test model before painting the 25th & 30th anniversary miniatures. I'm quite happy with the color of the power armor, but I'm going to add just a tiny bit of blue in the mix.
The 25th anniversary mini has waited for a few years for me to paint it :P
If I get hooked painting with this color scheme, I might get a small (or big) Crimson Fists army.
For the base I used a mix of dark grey, PVA glue and fine grain sand. Afterwards I drybrushed it with lighter grey.

High Elves Battlemage

I haven't updated this blog in awhile, but I have a good reason! That is World of Warcraft prepatch.

So I've been sneaking and rocking around with my outlaw rogue. :P

Now about the mini. It's from Island of Blood set and I'm still surprised how high quality and well detailed the minis are in it.

At first I was going to paint the red parts with blue, but for some reason I ended up painting them with red. Now my High Elves army is no longer just white and blue :D

Usually I paint gemstones so that darker colours are on topside, brighter colour on bottom and white dots on top. This time I tried changing places with dark and bright. I think it worked out quite well.
